Weldify project presents its External Quality Assurance Board

We’re proud to present the outstanding experts forming the External Quality Assurance Board (EQAB) of the WELDIFY project. These distinguished professionals will ensure that our training tools, curricula, and outcomes meet the highest academic and industrial standards:

Prof. Dr. Ing. Ionelia Voiculescu is a leading expert in welding technologies and materials science, with over 35 years of academic and research experience. As a full professor at Politehnica University of Bucharest and Director of the RENAR-accredited LAMET lab, she has coordinated more than 50 research projects. She is a recognized evaluator for both national and European vocational training programs, including Leonardo da Vinci, and has authored over 200 scientific publications. As President of the Romanian Welding Society (ASR) – Bucharest Branch, she brings strong leadership and technical expertise. Her experience in quality assurance, educational tool development, and ISO-aligned evaluation makes her a key contributor to WELDIFY’s External Quality Assurance Board, ensuring high standards and sustainable outcomes in welding education.

Petar Vrgović holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a PhD in Industrial Management, with a research focus on the communication aspects of idea management systems. Since 2022, he has been a full professor at the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management, Faculty of Technical Sciences, University of Novi Sad, Serbia. He teaches courses in business communication, creativity management, and conflict management. His research primarily explores the communication dimensions of engineering processes, human resource management, and the management of human potential in innovation activities. He actively participates in international projects that promote responsibility and citizen engagement in research and innovation. In addition, he is involved in business consultancy, supporting companies in optimizing their communication processes.

Professor Nico Avdelidis is a Professor of Aerospace Systems Management in the Department of Aeronautics & Astronautics, School of Engineering at the University of Southampton. Previously he was a Professor and Head of the IVHM Centre (Integrated Vehicle Health Management Centre) at Cranfield University within the School of Aerospace, Transport and Manufacturing. He also holds a professorship position – title (Professeur Associe) at Universite Laval, within the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Computer Vision and Systems Laboratory, in Quebec, Canada, where he does a lot of his research activities there in collaboration also with other organizations in Canada including the National Research Council. He has contributed extensively to several research areas, such as non-destructive testing and evaluation (NDT&E) of materials and structures, robotic and autonomous systems in aircraft MRO, advanced IR and other non-invasive imaging techniques, and health management of aircraft systems and structures.

Dr. Agathoklis Krimpenis is an Associate Professor in CNC and Advanced Manufacturing at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Hellenic Mediterranean University. His expertise spans CNC machine tools, advanced design, digital manufacturing technologies, AI tools, and optimization algorithms. He serves as Director of the Advanced Materials and Digital Industry Lab and leads the NextGen Manufacturing Research Group, focusing on cutting-edge solutions in smart and digital manufacturing. At the same time, he has extensive experience in the coordination and development of research projects, having participated, either as a leader or scientific collaborator, in dozens of national and EU-funded research initiatives. He is also a published author, with numerous scientific contributions in academic books and international peer-reviewed journals.
